I organized classes for new Christians and establish Christians about doctrine and homiletics. I left Peru in 2007 to marry my fiancée in the United States. In 2008, I became the part-time coordinator of the “English as a Second Language” classes at the Echo Hills church of Christ in Goodlettsville, TN, organizing activities for Hispanic students, updating the church on activities and progress, and assisting students with local jobs. In 2009, I served for 10 months as the part-time interim Hispanic minister at the Hispanic congregation at Berry’s Chapel church of Christ in Franklin, TN, while their minister renewed his visa. I preached all Sunday and Wednesday sermons and classes, along with Saturday night Bible studies. I studied with new visitors and followed up with new members. I led the members to attend city-wide and area-wide congregational meetings, attended court appearances with members of the congregation, and assisted them with job difficulties. I translated often for members of both the Spanish and English church.

I developed many skills while studying at Monterrey School of Preaching. Part of the curriculum was to give practical application to our studies for the ministry. While there, I worked with several congregations, teaching classes for young people, helping with area and regional youth gatherings, teaching adult classes, doing personal evangelism, and preaching for many churches in the surrounding area. While at the Central church in Dalton, I have had three and one half years of experience of being the sole minister for the Hispanic congregation.
