ADVANCE Program
[ FORMAT FOR CHAPTER FIVE ]
The following is the outline of Chapter 5 - if
you are doing an OPTION I Research Project format.
V. The Evaluation Plan ( if using Option I )
Introduction
This section defines what the chapter will cover,
namely to review how the objectives will measured. It will review "where"
the data will come from, which will then be used to ascertain whether or
not the objective was achieved. It will also explain how the information
will be analyzed and any possible limitations to the data collected.
Objective Data Analysis
In this section you will tell the reader what
statistical methodology will be used to evaluate the data collected, i.e.,
percentile comparison, correlational analysis, t-test, chi-square, etc….
Limitations of the Data Collection Plan
In this section you review any areas of the data
collection plan that may have limitations, biases, or skewed populations.
Basically, you tell the reader anything that may have an impact, or negative
effect, on the data you will be collecting.
Summary
This section, as before, simply tells the reader
how this chapter "fits in" to the overall scope of the Research Project.
The following is an example of a Chapter 5 outline if you are using an OPTION II format.
V. Researching and Choosing Funding Sources (Option II)
Introduction
* See above
Criteria for Selection
Here you describe for the reader the criteria
that will be necessary to find in a potential funding source. For instance,
if your project is done in an Appalachian state, then you may find that
there are some funding organizations that only give money to those
states. Or, if your project is related specially to education, then you
will want to identify those who are funding education programs… etc.
Actual Sources Researched
In this section you will identify several funding
sources (at least 5) that appear to match the criteria for which you will
be submitting a funding proposal. You will briefly describe each group
under consideration.
Final Selection of Source(s)
In this section you will select one (possibly
two) source that you will send a grant proposal. You will tell why you
chose this organization instead of the others.

III Research Project outline.

Hypotheses Related to the Objectives
Objective 1
In this section you will briefly restate the objective
noted in Chapter 4 (do this for each objective)
Hypothesis 1
A hypothesis is a statement of fact about what you believe to be true.
For instance, if my "objective" was to raise total revenues by 10% over
the next calendar year - then my "hypothesis may say something like "..total
revenues have been significantly decreasing for the past two years." And,
it is this hypothesis that becomes the thing you measure in the following
chapters.
Hypothesis 2
There may be one or more hypotheses for each objective stated
