OVC Institute for Adult LearningCo-Operative Practical Nursing ProgramWith Wood County Schools![]() The Ohio Valley College Institute for Adult Learning has entered into a co-operative agreement with Wood County Schools to serve as the host institution for the Wood County Schools Practical Nursing Program, beginning in July, 2002.
Prospective enrollees in the program must meet entry requirements set by the Wood County Schools Adult Education Program, which include a high school diploma or GED, and successful placement via a nursing program pre-test. The program qualifes for Federal financial aid (PELL grants and/or Stafford Loans), which may be applied for through Wood County Schools. The program also qualifies for state tuition support through the West Virginia Workforce Investment Board (for qualified applicants). Current class sizes average 35 students, but classes fill early and well in advance of the July start.
