Introduction
OVU's ADVANCE program, a
business administration degree completion program
in organizational management, is a unique
alternative to the traditional method
of pursuing a degree. It is designed for working adults with approximately 60 college
credits and significant life experiences who desire
to earn a college degree while continuing to work. The delivery systems for the curriculum
are based on course modules and principles to facilitate learning and to make it relevant.
This educational model assumes a level
of experience that will serve to produce college credit for learning that is validated through
the portfolio assessment process. This experience also plays a key role in the curriculum
which integrates past and present work and life experiences in a learning process
emphasizing student participation and interaction.
The ADVANCE program represents
OVU's commitment to meet the needs of adult
learners and to be relevant in a changing world.
The mission of the ADVANCE degree
completion program is to serve the educational needs of
our community by providing an excellent, flexible program that helps adult students achieve
their personal, professional, and academic goals in
an environment which seeks to support both students and faculty to facilitate learning
and growth.
